If you've followed my blog for a while, or even for only a short time, you may have noticed that I talk a lot about my life, myself and my family. This means that you might know a fair amount about me, much more than I know about any of you. Let's change that a little bit ok?
Kelsey came up with the awesome idea to do a reverse Q&A where you the readers answer some questions, instead of me always spilling the beans. She also took that adorable photo up there, that I blatantly stole to use today (love you, girl! don't hate me!) Here's how this works.
Below I'm posing five (what I hope to be) non-standard "get to know you" questions so that I can get to know you a little better (and to hopefully encourage a little creative conversation). You don't have to answer them all, but I would love if you did! Without further adieu, the questions!
1. Describe the soundtrack to your life; list specific songs if you can.
2. Have you ever heard any outstanding rumors about yourself? What was it?
3. Knowing what you know now, what one thing, if anything, would you go back in time and change about your life if you could? What effect would it have on your everyday life?
4. If you could steal one thing without consequence what would it be?
5. What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?

1. Man I'm not a music person really, so this one is too hard for me!
ReplyDelete2. At a job review where I had only been there for a few months, I got a lot of peer feedback that I was unfriendly/rude. I think of myself as the total opposite, but I do admit that I am quite reserved and quiet at first, unfortunately it can come off the wrong way. That was tough to hear, but the next year once they knew me I got all positive feedback!
3. One thing I wish I could change about the past was how I reacted to this long drawn-out breakup I went through. This guy strung me along and I just let him because I was in love, or so I thought. I really wish I had had the guts to cut him off when he started acting shady, because I think it would have eliminated a lot of the heartache I went through for the next year.
4. It would be impossible to steal in reality, but I'd love an awesome new couch. Something easier to pocket though - a Garmin watch. :)
5. The last experience that really stands out to me as making me stronger was the year I struggled with infertility, miscarriage, and my husband had two hip replacement surgeries. I went to therapy and learned how to cope and get help, and now I know much better how to care for myself and I can also empathize much better with other people.
Kathleen, I can completely relate to your job review. I'm quiet and reserved at first too and I found out after leaving one of my jobs that people thought I was snobby. It broke my heart!
Deletegreat questions Rachel! But to be honest, #2 and #3 are things I don't share online :)
ReplyDelete1) A Soundtrack of my life is difficult because I'm not good at music as well. But I made a soundtrack of my life right now for one little word. So I want to share this one:
- Maria Mena - all this time
- Pink - Just give me a reason
- Alicia Keys - Girl on Fire
- Vance Joy - Riptide
- Maroon 5 - my heart is open
- Silbermond - Irgendwas bleibt (it's German)
- Taylor Swift - Safe and Sound
- Taylor Swift - Everything has changed
- Christina Aguilera - we remain
4) Time!
5) This year is all about my one little word "open" and I actually started to open my heart and let new and old people I lost contact with back in. It makes me stronger in the way I know that I have good people around me that support me.

ReplyDelete01. Ohh the soundtrack of my life would have things by Sara Bareilles and Tori Amos, because I love to sing their songs. it would also have some Franz Ferdinand and Arctic Monkeys because I love to dance to those songs (so good) and some classics revisited by Michael Bublé. Some swing music as well, because I love that style.
ReplyDelete02. I'm an introvert person so that was mistaken a lot when I was younger with being stuck up or rude. People would say things like those about me. People would also ask me if I was gay, I don't know why.
03. Oh, absolutely. The one that maybe got away (because I decided to be a decent person). I wouldn't be indicent! I would just go for it. Who knows what would've happened really but I know I'd be more prepared for everything else that came after that.
04. A new apartment? A house at the beach? A plane ticket to Scotland? Something big like that.
05. I struggled with losing friends. I mean, realizing that when you're okay everybody is there for you, but when you're down and having a really hard time they're not. Yup.

ReplyDelete1. The Weeknd - Often (Lido Remix), Mario - I Used To Love, Pearl - I Know (Dpat Remix), Jaden Smith - Fast (Gravez Remix), Burn (Maths Time Joy Remix), Tinashe's whole album.
ReplyDelete2. One pretty terrible one that followed me around in high school: some boys thought it would be funny to spread a rumor about me to a sister school, telling them I was the school slut. But ironically, I was a total bible thumper back then, spending every moment I could at my church planning youth group, VBS, practicing in with worship band. Eventually, some people from the sister school came to my school and when they saw me in my all my very covered up, christian glory, they realized that me being 'the school slut' was a total lie ^^
3. If I could change one thing, it would be to never let anyone's opinion about my interests influence my decisions :)
4. If I could steal one thing without consequence it would be a shit tone of money. Enough that I could travel, indulge only in the projects I truly love, and buy a few apartments in my favorite cities.
5. The last experience that realy strengthened me was moving to Europe, and being refused for a visa renewal. I fought for 2 years, petitioning the courts, contacting newspapers, radios, collectives, and FINALLY got my papers approved. But actually, they were approved by semi-accident/miracle. It's a bit of a long story, but I basically learned two things: 1st, always fight for what you know is right, 2nd, if you're fight stems from an honest place in your gut, the universe will most definitely rise up to meet you in your journey (not to sound too woo woo or anything haha)
